I mean if you know HOW to read, if someone shoves a written word in your face it'll register AS a word to you and you're reading it, it's not like it takes effort (for the non-dyslexic, I mean)

idk I'm lol European so we get subtitles like 99% of the time, but it's just what you're used to I guess? It's a short switch your brain has to make from purely just watching and... also half reading what's being said, but idk I guess it's enough of a difference to actually be an effort to some people?

The other way around, I also get lol confused when I have to suddenly listen to my native language and I have to turn the volume on because I wasn't so much listening as reading 8(
