(Anonymous) 2020-11-19 12:47 am (UTC)(link)The ideal, for me, is when the secondary characters aren’t phoned in—when they actually have solid characterization and contribute to the scenes they’re in and feel like they exist outside of the scenes they’re in—but they still remain secondary characters who support the story without taking up a ton of the focus.
This is my preference, and I feel it's a completely fair preference to have. However, if someone else prefers more of a true ensemble situation, that's also totally cool, and if another person prefers a triadic situation where A and B are best friends and B and C are the ship couple and all three are of equal weight within the story, that's also cool.
