I found Captain Marvel really boring and uninspired, and Larson's acting was definitely a part of that, though it was probably only about one-third of the problem. But it has always baffled me a little, because she clearly is a good actor. So I'm just not sure what happened there. Poor direction, maybe?

I think the type of actor she is, is just a bad fit with the style of the MCU. Which is not quite the same as saying she's wasted on the MCU, but I get where you're coming from with that.

Also, yeah, the vitriol directing at her is OTT and usually pretty sexist.
