I have a feeling people just don't remember what it's like to be teenagers? Like when I was a kid I shipped the fuck outta Naruto. They were the same age as me but seemed older and it was never an issue. I really don't see the issue with characters 15-16+ because I mean, really? clearly they don't any knowledge of reality. Making a fuss about 17 year olds is actually a lot more problematic I think.

When I was a teenager, I actually WAS having sex. Yes, I'm going to write fic drawing on my own experience if I bloody well please. And no, I'm not going to write at as THE WORST THING EVER, because it wasn't.

The thing is, it's teenagers and very young 20-somethings (21-23 is about average) who are throwing around the pedophilia accusations. It isn't adults 30+ who haven't been a teenager in over a decade.

Some people aren't capable of opening their mouths without some variation of "Stop sexualizing minors!" spilling out, whether or not the situation calls for it. I've seen comments like that on fan art of characters making out (it's what teens do best ffs) or HUGGING.
