I'm doing okay, other than still getting over this stupid cold. It is cold and rainy here, but I'm enjoying some warm Thanksgiving leftovers.

The Poirot secret is giving me Poirot feels, and I may need to do a Poirot rewatch once I finish Buffy.

I was invited out for dinner with some colleagues, which was super nice because I have no idea how to take the step from "sitting at the same table at lunch three times weekly" to doing things together outside of work. I'm still surprised when someone likes me enough to ask me specifically rather than just including me when everyone is going.

Nice weather here despite the time of year. I wish my health was better because I managed to walk the trails in the nearby park and even stayed out a little longer (Team Rocket needed to be kicked out of several pokestops I could reach all at once while sitting still, woohoo) but about 45 minutes out of bed at a time seemed to be the limit, no matter how nice it was. Would've liked to sit out in the sun and fresh air a while longer, tired of staring at my ceiling.

Also still procrastinating on finishing editing the last chapter of this fic that's eaten my life for a couple months because writing these characters is the only thing I have actually enjoyed doing for years (as opposed to the closest approximation of enjoyment: "yay I actually got this thing done in spite of how much pain I'm in and now that it's done I can lie down again") and I suspect I will be completely directionless and depressed once it's finalized and posted. I just want to write these guys forever.

Cleaned, shopped, put up Christmas decorations. Legit teared up at the Anton Yelchin-tribute in Discovery. Started listening to a 20-episode podcast about the Spanish flu.

Someone tried to break into our house! Three of our outer windows (they are double) were pried halfway open. They must have did it while we were at work.

Not well. I just broke my dragon statue and now I'm mad.

And yes, I will super glue it but I just bought the damn thing yesterday and had an ugly accident with my desk literally flipping and everything flying with it shattering. Now Im sitting here letting out steam.

Woke up tired. Will do dishes, there's a seemingly endless backlog of dishes to do. Try to tidy up a bit. Wish for the squatters and their rats to go up in flames. Cling to the idea that I'm seeing a new therapist on Tuesday and that Things Will Get Better Eventually. Try not to think about Monday at work. Urgh, work on Monday...

My cat is hilarious and seems to think I control the universe. She wants to be out on the porch, but really hates the rain. Her current solution is to stay out there but also whine really loudly at me to come out and make the rain go away.

I miss long lengthy fics where sex happens and doesn't have to be deliberated over for forty chapters beforehand, with consent discussion every two paragraphs.

I also miss fic where two compmetent adults are written as two competent adults and not two people constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown over every little thing.

I hate tacos and Mexican food in general. I wish I didn't because in theory it looks amazing, but everytime I eat it it's just so boring. Especially compared to Turkish and Israeli food.

A little while back I came across a photo from an old black and white film that had an actress (I think Katharine Hepburn?) like standing over a guy in a fairly dominating pose, and him sort of splayed backwards? They were both dressed as ancient romans. I am hella curious about the film it came from.

Anyone know what film this could be??? I swear to god I saw that picture and now I can't find it or any trace of it anywhere!
