What is the most beautiful place you have ever visited?

(Anonymous) 2020-12-05 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
one for manmade, one for natural.

Manmade - either the Taj Mahal, this ancient buddhist temple in Indonesia ringed by dormant volcanoes and jungles (name escapes me), or the ancient parts of Rome.

Natural - all of Iceland, and the Sahara also.

For man-made, Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. For natural, New Zealand.

Notre Dame is beautiful and all, but oddly enough I always preferred the Sacre Couer.

I love Sacre Couer but I think it benefits a lot from the fact that it's at the top of Montmartre like that.

Oh definitely. Its location really makes it.

I loved the gardens of Versailles. I don't remember how many hours I spent there when I visited, but it definitely wasn't enough.

For natural, I used to love visiting my grandmother's house because she lived out in the countryside and there were these stone steps that led down to a pretty creek surrounded by wildflowers. It was like something out of a fairyland and I miss going there.

Puerta Galara in the Philippines. Amazingly gorgeous beaches. We used to go there on vacation every year. My favorite thing to do was to go up in the hammock the resort had with a mango shake and my walkman and just relax and watch the water from a distance. Second favorite thing to do was swim in the ocean. Third favorite thing was to snorkel.

The other really beautiful place we vacationed sometimes was Cebu. It was more expensive, so we didn't go as much. So I guess Cebu might be considered technically more beautiful?

But Puerta Galara is the one I think of when I think of beautiful places because it brings back more memories. It is those beaches I see in my head.

Venice.

I'm biased but Australia has good rainforests.
