I feel the same way about one of my fandoms/ships. I don't write fic because I suck at it, but what little fic there is is just so completely different from the characterization/character dynamic that I see, it's kind of mind boggling. I find myself thinking "are we even watching the same thing?", which I know sounds arrogant because obviously people can interpret things however they want, especially when they aren't canon to begin with. And it's really hard to claim that my interpretation of what kind of sex life A/B would have is "more correct" than anyone else's because they're not actually a couple in canon, but...I just can't imagine that someone who complains about society being over-sexualized and someone who turns bright red at even the slightest mention of sex are having all this super hardcore kinky sex. I just can't help but see them as the most vanilla pairing ever.

I got way off topic there, but...yeah. I know how you feel.
