I remember there was a big deal last year on Twitter about teen fans causing drama because older content creators were starting to block them because they were underage or there was no date of birth in the profile.

And then it started to take off and although I don't create content or retweet anything considered adult in nature, i now check a blogs age before i follow and also block anyone under the age of 18-20

I'm 30 next year, i don't want to be seeing vague posts about high school graduation drama. I'm not about that shit anymore.

I saw a meme about this on twitter and thought it was amusing but had no idea it was about this. Jesus, okay that's actually funny. "MOOOOOOM THE ADULTS ON TWITTER WONT LET ME SEE THEIR R18 CONTENT!!!!"

Okay, okay, sorry I'm done here. Just wanted to point out that it's amusing.

It's so hysterically funny.

Artists were getting called out for blocking underaged people from viewing adult content that they created.

Considering how quickly many of these young fans began to demand their pound of flesh over it, i think it's fair to say that the artists were 100% correct to start vetting their followers.

These youngsters are not in the right headspace for a lot of the content that they consume.

They'll whine about adult fans blocking interaction with them, and then turn around and call the adult fans who DO engage with them (in totally normal ways) creeps and groomers!

The whole point is to try and drive anyone out of their immediate age-peer group out of fandom spaces. Forget that! Either they'll grow out of fandom like they want us to, or they'll become old fans too and have to reckon with their own ageist BS.

Most of my mutuals are 25~60 and I'm happy with it that way.
