I needed to go to the drug store, so I went there this morning but they only had half the things on my list. So I went across town to another drug store and they had a couple of the things I needed, but still not everything (they had paper towels tho, yay!!!!). I finally went to the grocery store and found almost everything I wanted (I can't find Southern Comfort egg nog anywhere this year, boo hoo). I hadn't had Starbucks in awhile so on my way home I stopped by and got an iced latte. When I got home I had lunch and worked out. I'm making andouille and spicy beans for dinner tonight. I'll probably have a couple of puffs and take a walk in the park later this evening.

Work is boring and I want to go to the grocery store sometime in the next hour but I'm waiting on someone to get back to me about something first and idk how long they're gonna take. Very mundane frustration of course

Really typical/busy work day after our web services being down all day yesterday. Found out from boss that in a couple months we're all getting the raises that were deferred this summer for budgetary reasons. Despite health issue flare, went out after work to drop a defender in a pokemon gym, and wound up going literally from one end of town to the other to pick up pet supplies because both the places I put in an order at had them ready like 15 minutes after I submitted them, instead of so late I might as well do it tomorrow. Did a raid with some folks I knew since I was going right by one of the major hotspots just as the raid hour eggs were hatching.

Now I have half a day left of work this week and all the stuff I'd intended to do sometime this weekend is already done. Intending to go right back to the fic I started Monday night and ... quite possibly just keep writing until it's done or my fingers can't move, at the rate it's going.

Ugh, I'm trying to get my exercise done for the day, but it's warm and warm weather makes me sick :c
Also I couldn't get a refill on my ADHD meds the other day because they're tightly controlled and I haven't actually run out yet, which I totally get, but they aren't actually doing anything for me anyway! It's just annoying, that's all.

I got a gooseberry pie! That cancels out anything negative that happened today.

Took the day off since I have leave I need to use up (the pandemic nixed so many plans this year, I hadn't been taking vacation time) and I had an awkwardly-time appointment. I also took a walk and sewed another mask. Mostly I just spent the day feeling sad. My mother has cancer, I'm hitting middle age, I'm lonely, and I'm tired of the pandemic demolishing what social life I had.

Not bad, but I had to pay bills and got sad because now I can't buy the MCR makeup that's coming out tomorrow.

It was okay. Started too early. Kitty woke me up at 5 with a foot attack. Worked on job applications, tried not to stress about tomorrow. Can't sleep yet, even though I'm pretty tired, so I'm just listening to music and trying to relax.

Had something of a philosophical epiphany in relation to how I go about achieving goals and the nature of starting and finishing longer projects vs shorter ones. A kind of 'OCD meets zen', for lack of better words to describe it at the moment. I very much measure my own sense of worth through what I have and have not done on any given day but it really is the tasks that take weeks or even months that give the most satisfaction. Sometimes the wait really is worth it.

SUPER SHIT

I had to deal with endless streams of our local asshole junkies coming into the store trying to steal shit; managed to keep everything unstolen, but one broke a Lego statue our owner's mom made him for the store and I'm pretty sure I got traded in a piece of stolen merchandise from another store? I gave him like bottom dollar for it but holy FUCK

I'm so tired, I'm so fucking frustrated

Existential crisis + shark week + depression. I spent most of the day playing Skyrim to stay out of my head and to not feed my porn habit which I’m trying to kick. I have to go to work tomorrow and I don’t want to. I just want to sleep.

What's the weirdest/tiniest/most obscure/unusual fandom you've read or searched fanfic for?

My list probably includes...Grosse Point Blank, Zero Effect, Nero Wolfe, Harold and Maude, Hit & Miss (TV), and No Exit (Theater)

Also, I'd be interested in any recs you might have for any good fics in your obscure/under-appreciated fandoms!

Homicide Life on the Street, Event Horizon, 19 Days (manhua), and Empire spring to mind. Those fandoms are smaaaaaaaaall (Event Horizon doesn't exist, so far as I can tell).
