Weekend Plans?

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I am still recovering from Covid (I got a lingering cough) so I'll be mostly relaxing. I am going to try and crochet my family some simple ornaments with some leftover yarn I have. I might also watch a scary movie or two.

Using the break from teaching to finally do all that grading / feedback writing / crying in the corner I didn't manage yet this semester. :/

I got the go ahead to work from home, so today was an adjustment period but ultimately really great. I love working from home. This weekend, I'll be looking for some cheap presents for my sister and maybe hang out with my (other) sister.

Hopefully continuing to plug away at fic. Since I started up again last night I got 3500 words on it, and got some of the most urgent chores out of the way today, so we'll see what happens...

Also want to catch up on YYH for that rewatch, if the fic lets go of me. ;)

I hope you get some good writing done! I vaguely enjoyed YYH when I was a kid but my sister was the main watcher in our house.

Plan out my Christmas baking activities. Wrap presents. Post the final chapter to my first short story on AO3. Write.

Hope you feel better. Lingering coughs can be such a pain to get rid of. Aww that's so sweet that you crochet ornaments for your family. Enjoy your scary movie(s)! Do you know what you want to watch or are you planning on just scrolling until you find something?

I wrapped all my presents on Thursday and it wore me out! The only thing I am baking this year are bread rolls. What are you baking?

Thanks! I'll be watching The Lodge on Hulu and Creep on Netflix. Trying to get my watch lists down a bit.

Numenera! And praying a package I ordered two weeks ago arrives before one of my neighbours goes to hospital. He's getting a biopsy on the 23rd and I want to give him some sweets before he leaves. (We're hoping the biopsy will reveal he has a rare but easily treated auto immune disorder).

WHO KNOWS?!! Been waiting all day for the 24 hour test results of my FOURTH COVID test of 2020, and they have not yet come through. Really, really frustrating.

Parents are home. We'll be unpacking/opening a zillion boxes/decoration the house for Christmas.

I did 6 loads of laundry today (dryer was fixed yesterday after 3.5 weeks) plus carried their suitcases in for them and managed to mess my lower back up. I've got spasms and a bunch of pain. So I'll be taking it fairly easy. Heating pad quite a bit and pain meds.

Spending a lot of time with them since I haven't seen them in almost 3 months. Probably put some more Christmas music on my Ipod.

Finishing the report I was planning to write today until I got pulled into 6 different zoom meetings, and watching various muppet christmas movies.

Coloring my "probably last ever" fashion illustration project. That's my priority right now, to get it done. Right now a single illustration takes 6 to 8 hours. So, even if my head cooperated. I could be here a month. My head dislikes cooperating. It can be longer.

If all goes well, maybe I'll have a job or a hint of a job when it's done. If it does not go well, I'm finding a USB drive and just taking everything off my hard drive and not worrying about it anymore. Put away those dreams.

Making a list of what I do and do not want in 2021. Admittedly, there's far more 'do not wants' but at least I'm coming to terms with those things.

I missed that you were sick! I'm glad you're doing better and hope you make a full recovery without any lingering shenanigans.

I think the only thing of note is I have to change Mom's bedding. It's of note because I am child-sized and it's a California king. It's an ORDEAL. XD Mom tries her best, but she's child-sized and eighty so that doesn't work out so well.

I need to prepare my apartment for a furniture delivery tomorrow and then I’m writing a statement of interest / CV for grad school applications. My city goes back into lockdown Monday so I’m staying home to avoid the pandemonium of everyone doing last minute errands and holiday shopping.

I have a dilemma to solve:
A friend of mine whoi usually spend Christmas with has had a negative antigen test for covid.
but one of her work colleagues tested positive (rapid and PCR, she's symptomatic as well).
they had closer contact in the timeframe that is not covered by the rapid antigen test. my friend is very stingy with details so i don't know anything more than that they all wore masks during contact (now sick person also wore an FFP mask).
now idk how to ask for more details so i can decide whether to go visit her during Christmas or not. from previous experience she takes such things personally

No plans anymore!
I woke up at 11AM wondering where the heck my morning had gone.
Maybe if I can find the spoons in a couple of hours I'll go buy comfort food.
Supposedly I should finish cleaning out the fridge.
Probably I'll just stay in my pajamas, watch cartoons and maybe read a book, and pray that nobody tries to break into my house tonight. Or the neighbour's and give the dilemma again, call the cops or turn a blind eye out of fear of retaliation?
