The kid actors in Bly Manor are nowhere near as good as the ones in the first season.

Came here to say this. The Hill House kids just seemed to be better actors or better at working with the material they were given, or a combination of both.

Miles was way too OTT in Bly, especially when he wasn't actually Miles (if you get what I mean) and I agree with the folks who were about ready to rip their ears off if Flora said "perfectly splendid" ONE more time.

I've read The Turn of the Screw so the kids being creepy kinda comes with the territory, but honestly I felt like that didn't come across here. They were just annoying.

i found them both annoying at times, but idk, kids are just sometimes annoying? flora's "perfectly splendid" makes sense to me, she's a little girl and that was a phrase she picked up from someone she wanted to emulate (heh) and so she says it a lot.

I've got a low tolerance for child roles in media...partly because of the way they're written, partly because of the acting. So much of what TV/movies think is cute just feels really annoying to me. That said, I don't remember being too irritated by the kids in Hill House but the first episode of Bly Manor has set my teeth on edge.

I was just going to say, if the poster only finds the kids annoying on one show/movie that's pretty lucky.

Same. They were no more annoying than RL kids. Miles was a little bit OTT when possessed, but to be honest that's a bit expected.

Same. When they're not being creepy because of reasons, I thought they were almost blandly unannoying.
