What was your favorite piece of media you watched/read/played in 2020?

Special shout-out to the Spirit Hunter series on PS4.

The Untamed. I just wholeheartedly love it.

This is probably my favorite, too. :)

Adventure Time Distant Lands. There's only two episodes out so far, but that second episode with Bubblegum and Marceline made me very emotional and I loved it.

I really enjoyed getting caught up on Jessica Jones. It's fun and I like the characters. I like the dynamic between Jessica and Trish.

I read Sabriel last year, but I read the next two books in the original Old Kingdom trilogy this year (Lirael and Abhorsen), and they were so, so good. I was worried Garth Nix wouldn't stick the landing because of how much the action and the stakes kept building and building, but it was perfect. I loved it.

Ah, I haven’t read those books in years, but they were among my favorites when I was younger. Lirael was my favorite one.

OP - All three were good, but that was probably my favorite, too.

Top choice for new 2020 things would either be Lovecraft Country or Picard. Both were really good and really enjoyable to watch. I also thought Mrs. America was really good, but that wasn't as enjoyable simply because it wasn't the same type of fantasy/scifi tv so I couldn't escape into it.

Tales of Berseria on PS4. I love my team of trash people doing trash things out for themselves and yet caring more about the world than those in charge.

Discovered the podcast "You're Wrong About" and it helped me through 2020 like nothing else.
comet_scout: Cosmos, from transformers marvel comics. (shock)

Started The Magnus Archives a month ago, going though it slowly but enjoying it a lot.

Watched: Yu Yu Hakusho :)

Listened: two podcasts where these women read (and poke fun,) at fanfiction they wrote in their teens. It brings me back and the fact that it's them laughing at the ridiculousness that was their writing (the stories themselves are entertaining too) puts me in a really good mood.

Read: a number of romance novels that have gotten me through the pandemic for a number of reasons -- whether it was tropes I love or having the heroine and hero try to work out their own issues & be understanding with each other, or just growing up.
Writers: Mahairi Mcfarlane, Talia Hibbert, Helen Hoang, Tessa Dare (trophy nonsense but good fun), and Sylvia Garcia Moreno.

Shout out to the "After" series fit being such a trainwreck it helped me refocus myself, lol. The voice actors for the audiobook were AMAZING.

Playing Animal Crossing, Breath of the Wild, Pokemon SwSh and finally bought Mario Oddyssey on the switch.

Honestly AC and BotW helped a lot to get through not being able to go out. I recently got MO on the Nintendo Shop and it's really a cute fun game. I always think I will only play for a few more minutes and next thing I know, I'm completing another level.

I got back into Attack on Titan and I. Am. Obsessed. *Sobs*

This show wrecks me emotionally but the bonds between the characters, the absolute tragedy, and the allusions to myth like Ragnarok keep me coming back for more pain. I'm glad they're finally animating the final season but I'm not ready for all the crying I'm about to do. I haven't finished/caught up from where the latest episode is at in the anime but what I know about things is gonna devastate me. I love sad stories, though. And the music is fucking A+++.

I got back into it too, but I'm manga-only. It's truly a rollercoaster ride even as it winds down.

- I watched ATLA for the first time, and that was excellent.
- I watched Halt And Catch Fire and that was truly such a beautiful experience of a show, like I missed the characters viscerally for a week or two after I finished it.
- I watched The Queen’s Gambit, which was borderline perfect and just so damn satisfying.
- I watched the last two seasons of BoJack Horseman, which was, of course, exceptional.

It was truly and A+ year for television, for me.

I think I’ll just stick with TV shows. I’ll be here forever trying to remember which movies I watched and loved this year. Ditto books and music.
