Not an anime fan in general, but Zoolander as an anime would be magical lol.

The Man From Nowhere. I fear how they'd animate the little kid, but it could be so cool.

ROFL I would love to see Zoolander as an anime.

I'd want something like The Virgin Suicides or Pan's Labyrinth. A serious piece that would elicit some really elaborate beautiful drawings to represent a fantastical world. Would love to know how animators would interpret the Lisbon sisters when they narrator and his friends are reading Cecilia's journal.

I always wanted a LOTR anime series. Series, not movies. That way you can fit everything in, accurately, and also depict the elves as beautiful and ethereal as they're supposed to be.

ALSO TOM BOMBADIL.

Gratuitous amounts of snow. It's been hot this year and has only sprinkled a little snow twice. We should be covered in it by now but nope.

My mom. The secondhand bookstore that used to be downtown. Eating out. Having any extra money to spend on...checks notes...anything. Walking around my front yard barefoot. My old gray cat named Drea curling up beside me under the covers. Getting excited about and getting involved with fandom. Being able to go to Japan for the weekend. Getting beers with coworkers after work on Fridays. Going to noraebang.

Flash games and flash videos. I know, 10 more days, and they won't disappear immediately, but it's so weird having all of that go away now. And I'm not sure how many games Flashpoint will end up archiving in the end.

Hunger. I barely remember what it feels like because I haven't felt it for years, but it's the opposite of nausea so it must have been wonderful. I was feeling hunger so seldom already last time I did, I didn't even try to eat anything for a couple hours, I just sat there and enjoyed it.

I just really, really miss being hungry. Or being able to look at/smell food without feeling sick even.

Autumn in a more northern, colder climate. There is just nothing like watching the leaves turn in the American northeast. It is one of the things I miss most about Massachusetts. Autumn in Texas, even in an unusually cold year like this one, just doesn't come even close to matching.

Music

[personal profile] philstar22 2020-12-22 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
My parents are buying me a new ipod as a thank you for taking care of the house for 3 months and also as a semi-bribe because we'll be caring for my sister's cat and dog after Christmas (she just called and told us today) because she and my brother-in-law want to go on a hiking trip post-Christmas, and that place won't allow pets.

Anyway, super excited because my ipod has seen better days on account of how often I listen to it. Every day. It goes everywhere with me. It is my primary way I listen to music. I hook it up in my car when I drive. I use it with headphones whenever I have a spare moment. I love it.

How do you most often listen to your music? What sorts of music do you listen to most often? Do you take your music with you? Do you find yourself wishing life had a soundtrack like I do?

I just finished a show...

(Anonymous) 2020-12-22 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
And now all I can do is cry. Or at least
... it's weird because it's been so long since I've watched a show in its entirety (in rather quick succession/it didn't take me 5 months to do) and actually grew fond of all the characters, wishing the adventure would never end. I miss them, and I'm happy that they have such a... friendship. I'm going to miss them so much. It's been so long since I felt this way...and this probably why I don't finish shows lol

The show in question is Yu Yu Hakusho (YYH Rewatch OP here). I guess I've seen a few animes that make me feel this way, but there's something special about watching this show, at this time, a show I saw maybe fifteen or twenty years ago, and despite it being "for kids" there were a few episodes that came for my life, as it were, and at least the takeaway for me is evermore applicable today, and it certainly didn't hit the same way today as it did then.

I'm going to miss all the characters and adventures. Just wanted to share. Getting all emotional by myself -- had to get the feelings out.
