I just finished a show...

And now all I can do is cry. Or at least
... it's weird because it's been so long since I've watched a show in its entirety (in rather quick succession/it didn't take me 5 months to do) and actually grew fond of all the characters, wishing the adventure would never end. I miss them, and I'm happy that they have such a... friendship. I'm going to miss them so much. It's been so long since I felt this way...and this probably why I don't finish shows lol

The show in question is Yu Yu Hakusho (YYH Rewatch OP here). I guess I've seen a few animes that make me feel this way, but there's something special about watching this show, at this time, a show I saw maybe fifteen or twenty years ago, and despite it being "for kids" there were a few episodes that came for my life, as it were, and at least the takeaway for me is evermore applicable today, and it certainly didn't hit the same way today as it did then.

I'm going to miss all the characters and adventures. Just wanted to share. Getting all emotional by myself -- had to get the feelings out.

It really is a rare timeless gem of a show. I've watched it all the way through like six or so times and each time I see and feel new things. It's incredible in so many ways, from the characters, to the soundtrack, to the general sound design, the background art, the unique 90's-esque fashion and aesthetics, just everything really. I've seen so much dubbed anime and Yu Yu Hakusho blows 99% of all dubs out of the water with its stellar cast.

Last night I actually went to sleep with YYH on in the background. I wasn't even looking at the screen, just listening to it, and it's amazing how well it works as an 'audiobook'-esque drama. That's how strong the dialogue is where you don't even need to see what's going on to know what's up.

Granted, admittedly maybe I've seen it enough times over the past two decades where I know a lot of the scenes by heart. Lmfao. But yeah, it's above and beyond my favorite animated series.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this. And more over, seeing as how you've rewatched it numerous times (and taken away new things each time), it gives me hope? Something? Knowing I can return again, I guess I avoid rewatches in general, but...I kind of even want to buy this series? It's special to me. Thanks for responding, nonnie <3
