Wait, Rey is a Skywalker? I thought that was just fanon? To be fair I've seen like... 0.5 of a SW movie and Solo, but I feel like I wouldn't have missed that revelation. Or it was hard to tell crazy fanon fans from angry canon fans.

Rey is actually the Emperor's granddaughter (Which retcons a HUGE plot point in Last Jedi), but of course she rejects that in the end and with Luke and Leia's force ghosts watching her, she calls herself Rey Skywalker.

She's not a Skywalker by descent but she adopts the name by choice in the last line of TROS

TBH it threw me for a loop when I first saw the secret because it's a really bad line in a really bad movie so I understand your confusion
