I do think too except I don't draw. I think it's a healthy way to work on your creativity so don't be too hard on yourself over the escapism. Lately, the most fun I have is creating new characters and building a life for them, especially stuff that won't be in my stories, but helps me understand that character better. Let your creativity fly OP.

IMO, this doesn't really count as RPF, though. I find RPF squicky when it's about living people, especially but not only if they are already in relationships with other people. When you're talking about long-dead people, who have most likely been fictionalized (?? I don't think that's the word I'm looking for) to an extent, anyway... It just doesn't seem as potentially harmful or like it's breaking fourth-wall boundaries to me.

Not only that but I also blame Disney's "Cinderella" with the character of Lucifer and pretty much Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS, which is probably my least favorite musical of his with very dated 80s orchestrations, style over substance (it's pretty much a costume, set, and makeup extravaganza with little to no story), and hypersexualized cats.
