2020 is almost over!

What is everyone doing this long weekend?

My birthday is tomorrow so I will be celebrating. My sister and I will be making Tikka masala and homemade naan.

I'll also be getting day drunk while helping my sister put some of her Christmas stuff up. Some video games will be played in between all that.

Saturday and Sunday will be spent preparing myself to go back to work.

Happy early birthday! My mom's birthday is tomorrow too, so we're going to celebrate. It's gonna be a quiet celebration since we can't have anybody over, but I got her a nice cake from her favorite bakery and my sisters will be cooking something for her, so it should be nice.

I got up the nerve to start posting the current fic project last night... at like 2am... so I only got two chapters up before bed, and planned to finish it today. Instead put on some cosplay and went out to take pics since I was feeling tolerable for once, and it wiped me out so bad I haven't been able to get back to anything that requires brainpower.

So the rest of this weekend will be me trying to finish posting that fic, and either troubleshooting or returning the laptop my family got me for Christmas to help with my job... cause it's not an improvement over my old cheapo laptop if I can't get it to turn on without trying a dozen times. :P Also will be probably enjoying the Pokemon Go NY event and probably hitting level 42.

Probably nothing. There's a possibility of homemade waffles at a friend's place; other than that, stay wrapped in a blanket, drink either tea or beer depending on the mood, and watch Netflix.

(This looked like a dream end-of-year to me last year, now it's just sad.)

have a bit of a weird new year's resolution.
I read a lot about how school schedules are ridiculous and stressful so I decided to test if I could manage a flexible version of my high school years.

Every day of the week I;m going to try and replicate, kinda, my school schedule. in my last years of high school there were 6 periods a day and I had 5 classes, so one of them would double up each day.
so I'm going to spend 1 hour each on 4 "subjects" and 2 on a 5th "subject", though when I go out to work also counts to the 6 hours.
"subjects" will be like "write comic script draft 3", "draw", "practice korean on duolingo" and so on.

If it works, I'll have had a very productive week and will not feel any pressure to do anything on weekends!

if not... well, at least I'll know!

I am going for a walk with some friends who live in the neighborhood tomorrow (one of whom I haven't seen in several years) so that'll be nice. Other than that a lot of chilling, weed, and white wine.

I did my nails (sparkly glitter yay!!!) this afternoon and now I'm getting ready to drink Dom Perignon and say good riddance to this shitty year! Tomorrow is lazy day so I'm doing nothing. I'll take down Christmas stuff on Saturday. Sunday's still up in the air, lol.

Long Weekend:
My sister returns here at some point tomorrow/tonight. We're not sure when. Originally was tomorrow night. Then her hotel wasn't masking and had no room service. But there is a current blizzard where she is as she's driving, so they've stopped the jeep they've rented and are staying at a rest stop, in the jeep, until they can drive again. So who knows when they'll get here again. They are technically about 3 hours away, but it will probably be sometime in the morning tomorrow.

Then sister and brother in law will stay for tomorrow and leave on Saturday. I will spend lots of time the rest of the weekend comforting my cat and assuring her that I am still hers and have not been claimed by my sister's cat and dog even though I've had to walk the dog.

I have some legal work to do. Other than that, I plan on sleeping lots, putting music on new ipod, resting my sore hip (pulled muscles, pressing on nerves, shooting pain), and just relaxing.

I've been in a pretty bad time lately, and I realized that I don't actually remember the things I used to do to cope in times when things are crummy.

Currently I'm pecking some game coding and following a youtube tutorial, distracting myself that way, but I'm wondering what do you guys do to cope? Tips and advice?

I hate fireworks and loud noises in general. I prefer going to bed before midnight. I just don't really do New Years. Except the fireworks mean I can't actually go to sleep like I want to. I thought San Antonio had banned fireworks, but clearly not. Doesn't help that I have a splitting headache.
