They did this in Stargate: Universe, too (mental possession of some one else's body), and even though the person/people consented to the possession (it was a way for some people to visit loved ones/the command structure billions of light years away) - nobody consented to having their body used for sex.

So...yeah. Yuck, ew, WTF, and WHY. And why don't writers (only male? All?) GET THAT THIS IS GROSS?

I don't remember the part where no one consented to sex, but it's been ages since I watched it. Tbh I feel like even having characters sign consent forms for being possessed is better than a lot of fantasy/sci-fi scenarios.

The bar is so low that acknowledging consent that specifically at all is impressive.

It was, you know, Stargate, so military and military adjacent, so they were kinda...'we need volunteers' kind of consent. Although, to be fair, the person who was possessed would 'switch' with the other person, so they got to roam around on this distant, amazing spaceship for a while.

But yeah, no, there was not consent for sex. I remember at the time, anybody who was watching was completely turned off. They stopped doing those mind-switches after a while, thank gods, because it really made the plot stupid and slow.

I liked the mind switches. I liked that with the Tok'ra, they shared the body rather than just being possessed totally and that the person possessed got to be the dominant mind too sometimes.

I never liked it. It seemed like a cop-out, on SG:U, and i really was so very bored with the 'tearful/angsty home visit' stories they kept using it for. Less of that, more cool spaceship stuff!

One of the guys wakes up during sex and is surprised/confused, so I think it's implied the sex wasn't part of the deal.
