136: Bill and Ted is the ONE most obvious slash pairing in the world and yet the ONLY one I have NEVER, EVER found fic or art for. Not to say I want to find it or ship it myself, but it always struck me as how odd that in MY ENTIRE LIFE online I have NEVER found any real substance to it. There WAS a LJ community or something but it was empty, which pretty much said it all. So weird.

156: I never understand the whole "why can't he be female" thing. There are Time Lords and Time Ladys, y'know? They DO have set sexes. Why WOULD he change? Didn't Romana change like a million times (and destroy the '12 regenerations' plot device in the process) and still remain female?

EXACTLY. THIS.

It would be one thing if we'd never seen any Time Ladies but we have! Three of 'em! And one of them did regenerate. Into a female. And then there's the Master, another Time Lord. Who is male. And continues to regenerate. Into a male.

Just because they never outright say, YEAH THEY HAVE SET SEXES it's kinda one of those things that should go without saying since the indications have always been there.

You and your logic. LOGIC HAS NO PLACE IN WHO FANDOM! It doesn't even exist in canon!

A few years ago, I can remember searching all over for one Bill and Ted slash fic that was online, and from what I heard had pretty good characterization. I'd found the link, but there was nothing there. I think it got deleted. :(

But Nine also indicates that he changes on a cellular level in PotW, right? So theoretically, if Nine can change into something that's not humanoid, or has two heads or whatever, why can't he change into a female? It's never confirmed one way or another.

Mmm, personally, I take truth from the 40+ years of canon in every media available that no Time Lord or Time Lady has ever changed sex (or become non-humanoid, for that matter) during regeneration. Just because something isn't laid out in black and white doesn't mean it's suddenly open to interpretation.

I doubt we'll see a female Doctor in canon ever, apart from Curse of Fatal Death. But since it hasn't been laid out in black and white (and even then, this is DW and retconning is the writers' favourite pastime), it's still theoretically possible and therefore absolutely is open to interpretation. We never see the Time Lords do any number of things, but they still presumably do them until proven otherwise.
