134. It’s not really about shipping, but I do like Chuck + Nate, even if it’s just hanging out. Speaking of that, where IS he? I know Nate isn’t Prince Charming, despite the UES’s mass delusion which projects him as so, but shouldn’t he be around while Chuck is Winehousing? Writers, I know Nate isn’t quite as duplicitous, byzantine, and dramatic as some of your favorite characters but… I like him. Let him come home?

141. So I lent the book out to a friend who expressed interest. Months later, and I didn’t hear boo. Now she has no memory of ever receiving the book. I want it baaaaack (but am reading The Yiddish Policeman’s Union in the meantime).

134 - I was wondering that myself while watching last weeks episode, I mean, Nate should kind of be there seeing as they were such good friends and all...

134. Nate just isn't as high drama as the rest of the characters (he works almost as a passive object used as a catalyst to create or add to drama between characters, such as Serena and Blair, Blair and Chuck, Dan and Chuck, Dan and Jenny, Jenny and Vanessa, etc. Boy is a total doe-eyed home-wrecker and he's not even trying), so he might be less entertaining to write for.

But a throw-away line would have helped. Is he with the Vanderbilts? Visiting his dad in prison? Whoring himself out for the billionth time in his young career? WHAT?

134 - You make a very valid point.
But they definitely should have at least had a line mentioning his name!

Maybe he's scouring the world for Chuck in his own way? But, while the boy is probably a bit more down-to-earth compared to a lot of the characters, he's a bit slow.

So it's taking him a while to figure out that Chuck is back.

118. I love fanon plots like that, where you try to figure out what a character might have become later. But this one is all nooooo! for me, because I *LIKE* Susan, dammit. D:

Especially the ongoing "Trouble with Susan," which is a huge debate both in the Narnia fandom and academia.

But, yeah. Killing children? Turning into the new ice queen? In that asshole lion's DREAMS!

Yeah. I used to dislike Susan (on no real basis other than "she stopped liking Narnia") but the movie, whatever its flaws, made me really care about her, and I'm going to be SO SAD and so pissed off if they ever get to that part of the story.

I can totally see a really good fic coming from that Susan/Mrs. Coulter plotbunny--sort of a tragedy, a worst-case-scenario thing. (Of course, now that I've written the phrase "Susan/Mrs. Coulter" my brain wants to think femmeslash, and that would be--somehow faintly more appropriate, if very bizarre.)

honorh? It's brilliant (& I needed tissues by the end).

I've read a lot of different resolutions for Susan. Neil Gaiman had an... interesting... take.

I'm trying to remember if his was the one that made me want to throw things...there was definitely one by a famous author that had me feeling very sad and bitter by the end (or had me thinking the author felt that way).

I don't cry at fic--occasionally I choke up--but

honorh's was just...read it if you haven't. :D
