I’ve seen one of the missing serials adapted as an animation and had mixed feelings about it because yay, got to see it in one way with the original audio, but the animation was so lackluster.

Agreed. I've seen most of those missing serials (the recent one I've seen is "Shada") and the animation is so lackluster. I understand the BBC wanted to cut corners but I think it would have benefited from the team that gave us Avatar/Korra, and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Yeah, the animation was really dull, which is a real pity. They needed to get some experienced animators in early development, I think, rather than go "here's the script, here's 5 pounds, animate it!"
