IMO Doctor Who can work in any medium whatsoever, as long as the writing is good enough

It has been a long day. I got as far as "animated Doctor" and my brain immediately went to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" territory.

Your idea's good too, though.

I actually think that would be perfect.

I absolutely love this idea. It would mean more likely episodes of the doctors crossing over and working together \o/

I enjoyed the reconstruction animated episodes from Patrick Troughton's missing episodes, even though it can be stiff and obviously made on a tight budget - it shows how much dedication gets put into bringing the lost episodes out.

I’ve seen one of the missing serials adapted as an animation and had mixed feelings about it because yay, got to see it in one way with the original audio, but the animation was so lackluster.

Agreed. I've seen most of those missing serials (the recent one I've seen is "Shada") and the animation is so lackluster. I understand the BBC wanted to cut corners but I think it would have benefited from the team that gave us Avatar/Korra, and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Yeah, the animation was really dull, which is a real pity. They needed to get some experienced animators in early development, I think, rather than go "here's the script, here's 5 pounds, animate it!"

It's a really good way to get more stories with Doctors where the actor has passed, though obviously you need to get someone who can do a good imitation of their voice. Some fans might not like it but I wouldn't mind.

The image used in the secret is why I'd love it. The perfect opportunity for multi-Doctor stories with New Who and Old Who Doctors meeting.

If the animation was decent I would love this. David Tennant as Ten is basically a live-action cartoon, anyway.

well... i agree with you op, but animation is super expensive and the bbc's budget means that they often have to/have had to take cost-cutting measures where possible. i.e., filming in cardiff to take advantage of welsh grants, using a stable of actors from bbc staples like eastenders, trying to keep it very much a children's show to take advantage of toy deals...

i just don't see it happening, hence the limited animation for those lost episodes where they have only to audio to go off of. or the limited animation of that web toon they made years ago with 10 and martha.
