I watched the NT broadcast of 'One Man, Two Governors' and he was stunning in that (and he was really good in 'History Boys').

He does seem to be in literally everything these days so I can see why everyone has a huge hate boner for him. He's basically the British Nathan Lane (seriously, look at his recent roles - 20yrs ago they'd have gone to Nathan Lane).

I'd love to see him cast against type in something.

I keep hearing rumors about him that he's an asshole. I tend not to believe them, IDK why. I think it's just sour grapes on someone else's part and they started the rumors.

it's partially a general hatred of theater kids who are now theater adults, and that time Jimmy Kimmel asked him to name two cameramen on Corden's set, and Corden couldn't name even one cameraman, and no one knows if that was scripted or if Jimmy knew James was a dick.
