This probably won't be helpful at all, but for what it's worth sometimes it's not a matter of being hated when getting blocked on Tumblr.

I can only go by my own experience - but I've blocked people for extremely petty and next-to-nothing reasons: having an opinion I didn't agree with ("I headcanon this character as loving pineapple on their pizza!" *blocked*), being under 18, have way too many drama/discourse/anti posts for my taste, are 'that' person who spams a fandom tag with their post, looking vaguely like a porn blog, etc.

It also doesn't help that you'll get idiots who post up 'block lists' and their mutuals choose to follow up for whatever reason without doing any kind of fact-checking because it's time consuming and "why would anyone lie on the internet? I trust this person to be telling the truth-"

Even though it can feel personal, it's often more likely not.
But it still a crap situation to be put in OP, and I'm sorry you're going through it. I hope you get to meet other people and make friends in your fandom/s in the future.

I once saw someone who liked to post pictures of their angora bunnies. They said they blocked anyone who referred to the bunnies as lionheads. I still have no idea why that would be controversial.

Maybe to the bunny obsessed, it's like calling somebody's prize Shiba Inu a pug.

Yeah, usually when I block someone it's for the simple fact that they post stuff that I don't want to see. Maybe it's because they ship a ship that I don't like, maybe it's because they're an artist and I just don't like their art style, maybe it's because they spam multiple posts on the same topic per day, maybe it's because they're under 18 and I'd rather not interact with them at all as someone who is almost 40, etc. Almost never does personal dislike factor into it.
