Stories like this are why I’ll probably never have a beta again after falling out of touch with the fandom friend who used to give my stories a once-over. Outside of working with someone I knew I could trust with it, I’ve had bad beta experiences on both sides of the exchange, and even if I could figure out where to start looking, I’d be afraid to try.

Also, threw a fit because you wouldn’t credit them as a co-author? What the Jesus Christ. On the one hand, I’m not surprised something like this happened, but on the other hand, OMG what the hell.
