I am trying a new recipe for turkey meatballs, which I will be serving with a very simple marinara sauce over spaghetti. The meatballs turned out beautifully and my house smells divine, I only hope they taste as good as they look and smell. I will have a glass or two of chianti with it.

Middle Eastern food from one of favorite restaurants. I got a falafel sandwich and a combo platter with a little bit of everything. Been so long since I've had food from this place. Can't wait to dig into it!

My dad makes an onion tea with purple onions, cinnamon sticks, ginger, honey, and some other stuff. It tastes absolutely awful and makes the kitchen reek of onion, but it does soothe my throat when I have a bad cold.

My dad would give us a jigger of hot brandy and honey for a cough (omg, how i loathed it). Did make us stop coughing and go to sleep, though.

Also - a strip of flannel around the neck, with Vicks under it.

Nothing works for clearing sinuses like steam. I just go in the bathroom, turn the shower on high, and sit on the toilet and read magazines for an hour.

Vent thread

For anything you want to vent about.


I'm venting about Apple, who just sent me the message that my computer is in the store at 5:57 PM, 3 minutes before the store closes. Meaning the computer was most likely sitting in the back of the store in a box all day, and I could have picked it up earlier if I'd known.

Somehow it took 2 days longer to ship it back to the store than it took to both ship it to the repair place and have the repair done combined.
