Right? Maybe every single secret is an elaborate lie by the OP. That's a perfectly reasonable assumption.

It's hardly an elaborate lie. Come on. The idea that people who are involved in a situation don't necessarily give a reliable and objective account of it is hardly some conspiracy theory. It's a pretty basic and familiar and well-attested reality. It doesn't involve malice, just normal human fallibility.

Eh, I'm saying either is possible. It could be some mix of the two as well.

No chill was had by you today. Nor reading comprehension, it would seem.

HAH. Exactly what I was thinking.

Oh, now we're asking secret makers to, what? Cite their sources? OP wasn't asking for us to play judge. They don't need evidence. This isn't a court.

Sooounds like we just have a bunch of salty fanfic authors in the comments, if you ask me.

They don't need evidence and this isn't a court.

But equally, aren't people in the comments allowed to react how they want? Well, my reaction when I hear a story like that is, I think there might be two sides here.

I think it's a combination of writers who are rather sensitive to the topic of concrit, plus the few people who had a bad experience with their beta so now they think there's no such thing as a good beta.

But there's so much more salt in your comment though... and honestly, by the flavor of the snark, I kind of think you're the same person. Are you replying to your own comments? Are you OP?

Nope, I just feel very strongly about the whole thing. I AM a fan of your tinfoil hat, though.

And there may be salt (like I said, this is one of those things that bugs me a lot) buuuuut it's couched in a weird form of glee. I love how asinine this whole community is. It's absolutely fascinating and I get a huge kick out of it.
