AYRT - I think for me, for both of the movies are the issues of self-reliance. With It Follows, there are specific rules It follows (heh) that would be inconvenient, but I think I could work around. I have to drive out to X, then double-back to give me time to work here for X hours, then go to Y so I can come home and get a good night's sleep, etc. Or I'd just have sex with a flight attendant. It would be EXHAUSTED by that. Overall, I'd go into problem-solving mode and I can handle that.

With The Descent, it's almost opposite: it's a situation I would never, ever be in. 1. My friend group is more trustworthy, 2. I would never spulunk and 3. In a physical situation, if anything remotely like this came up, I feel pretty self-reliant.
