I’m not even gonna lie, I enjoyed Dragon Ball Evolution. I love the Dragon Ball franchise, so I probably should’ve hated that movie, but I thought it was fun.

Netflix’s Death Note was pretty bad though. Willem Dafoe as Ryuk was awesome and the guy who played L was decent, but the rest was so bad and that Ferris wheel scene had me dying of laughter, which was probably not the intended effect.

It's because there's been years of the friendly, decent portions of the in-game community dipping a toe in the fandom and then backing the fuck away at great haste when met with the unreasonable assholes, to the point that public fandom is now pretty much assholes all the way down.

There are smaller, self-isolating pockets of sane fandom here and there, but you pretty much have to make friends with the right people to get access, because no one wants to be the one to let the aggressive shitweasels in.

All true, but Goren and Eames' actors are so good I forgive CI quite a lot.

I don't know that I really ship them romantically either, and I'm a ship hoe. I've read a few M fics with them, but it's been a while.

I think some of it might be that there are aspects of older TV that has aged poorly and perhaps people are worrying about that. Then again, I was reading a Twitter thread from someone who abandoned their re-watch of How I Met Your Mother because they felt it had aged terribly already, so the age of something isn't always an indicator in that regard!

There's a lot of older TV shows I'll still watch for nostalgia purposes, even the things from before I was born. Dismissing all old TV and claiming to be a fan of TV in general is like claiming to be a film fan and refusing to give black and white films a chance to me.
