Do you know how long ago that was?

Also, when you say webpage-based, do you mean it was text-based or something? Or just that you would play within a website and move your sprite around with arrows or something?

It was like... It wrote out a choice like "explore the dungeon" and when you did it would be like "you found treasure" or "a monster appears!" and it would take you to a screen with a picture of the monster. You could choose to attack it or run away I think. If you did, then it would be like "you hit for five points!" "the monster hits for three points!" until it was defeated or you died. There was no moving a sprite, just clicking text. Thank you for trying to help me. This is just SO VAGUE!

Huh, yeah. I can vaguely recall a few games like that, and I'm sure some of them were java or flash-based. The only one that sticks out in mind is the one where you put your LJ name in and had people run through your dungeon, and they'd live or die. But that probably isn't the one you're looking for, since I don't remember a chatroom for it.

Uh... sorry that isn't much help.

You could try googling for text-based RPGs with "sword" in the title, but I know that can be a mixed bag.
