The great thing about being in a city is that even if strangers heard and registered what you were singing, they wouldn't care, unless they happened to also be fans of eldritch horror based filk, in which case they'd probably just grin to themselves and go on their merry way. City folk are very good at filtering out low-grade strangeness unless it's actively disrupting our day or it's something we're personally attuned to - you kind of have to be if you're living in a high-population area, because most people don't have the mental bandwidth to react to that many people on a daily basis.

As a city person, true. Although when I do catch snippets of conversations, 9/10 times it makes me laugh and think wtf

Best example:

"So I had the car, the girl, and money and I had to get the hell outta Dodge"--

What western/action movie are you living my dude? Best part is there's no context, so this could have been about anything.

For me I usually notice stuff like this but I would never actuslly react to it in any way...
