4. Get a life. A hobby is not a profession. You're not wasting tax dollars on bad RPers, what a bad Rper is happens to be your perception and opinion, and you're being a baby for wanting to rant about it and whine. You're pretending to be a fictional character writing in a journal (hell, it's OOC for half of manga characters to write in stupid journals in the first place), and vicariously channeling judgment and emotion through them. Just as someone holds religion as a way to feel superior, just as someone holds psychology or science as a way to feel superior, you feeling the need to rant and whine about others just having fun and how it effects you is lame. Suck it up, loser.

There are sane RPers, sane religious people, and sane scientific people. However, the dictators of these denominations ruin it all.

You know, some RPs have characters who barely make any journal entries at all. And some applications to RP communities even say an applicant doesn't have to fill out the first-person sample section if they feel their character isn't the type to write a journal entry.

Wow. Making a rant AGAINST 4 and supporting 10 so strongly when they're basically rooted in the same sentiment of getting angry only because situations have justified said anger?

Now, that's hypocrisy. Just because you understand regular fandom stuff but not roleplaying doesn't give you some badge to condemn one but not the other.

You know what I hate aside from everything?

How people like. Start internet drama and cry about annoying nerdy things like roleplaying games and pairings and fanfiction...and then if someone says something to them their immediate defense is "LOL THE INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS." Um, okay, that defense is kind of ruined with the fact that you're....ranting and whining about RPGs, fictional pairings, and fanfiction.

Since when has the serious business defense become so easy to throw around and use? :( You're contradicting yourself by saying it if you talk about making fun of internet drama and seriousness when all you do is whine and cry about these supposed non-serious issues in the first place.

Examples:

"UGHHH I FUCKING HATE THAT NARUTO RPER THEY ARE SUCH SHIT!!!! DURP!!"

"Eh, you're being a baby. It's a nerdy fucking roleplaying game, just leave it alone."

Your right to use the serious business defense is immediately taken away, and all further use of the phrase will be rendered useless and nullified in meaning, if you originally cried in the first place and just used "Srs bznss" as a contrived defense to your retarded wank.

When I see like, say for example, two people making uh.

Cloud and Sephiroth sparkle at each other and make kissie faces. No matter how lame that is, I'm not gonna spoil their fun. I agree with Ten, not on the part where it has to do with justifying someone getting serious over something in the first place (I think that's lame n retarded lulz), but the way the "Srs bznss" thing is thrown around.

Don't get so scared, kiddo. I can admit my mistakes, and I should have elaborated just how I agreed on ten. But it was like, a bit tl;dr so I didn't read the entire thing, hahahaa.

Hahaha, well, thanks for clearing that up, and I apologize for assuming you weren't a roleplayer, though your rant made it seem that way. :(

However.... anything you said that might have made me respect your opinion was completely undone with your introduction of the word "kiddo." When you're trying to talk about not being condescending towards fellow roleplayers because of different opinions, you might want to consider changing your own condescending tone towards them.

But enough! My opinion has been spoken and I'm done with the wank. Good day!

Wait, so you're saying that ranting and whining about something that annoys you is lame? I'm not sure I understand the reasoning here. You're ranting and whining about my secret, aren't you? Does that make you lame too? No offense intended, just a bit confused.

My secret was that sometimes RP ranting is justified, in that it's not just me saying "LOL U SUK I RP BETTER THAN U," it's about me saying "okay, RP HOWEVER YOU LIKE, but once that starts to AFFECT MY CHARACTERS, I have a right to be annoyed." You play Gatts, right? If your Griffith started prancing about in a pink tutu and giggling at flowers and YOU, ICLY, HAD TO RESPOND TO THAT, (more so if the other player refused to let you hurt their character in any way and kept insisting upon interacting with you) wouldn't you be annoyed?

Hobbies are supposed to be for fun, and once someone starts ruining that fun, it's not so much a hobby any more, is it?

That's what I saw your secret as. Like I used to play Sephiroth in a multifandom game only to have others THROWING ROCKS at him just because lolzitwasfunny and... er. This being Sephiroth... it was naturally against the rules to KILL them without consulting with the players first, when he WOULD have.

Not only that, the characters throwing rocks at HIM for fun would NEVER do that. So not only did that make things difficult, but it was a very WTFhowdoIreacttothisICly period of time.

So yes, I agree with what you're saying here. ♥

I didn't know the secret had been taken like that. I recently had a secret ranting about roleplayers kind of cause a lot of tension and annoying drama in a game I was in temporarily, so I was a bit on edge.

And if my Griffith was prancing around in a pik tutu I think I'd have Guts just slice him in half and go have interaction with someone else. But yes, I would be annoyed.

I definitely get the fact that people can be annoyed at OOCness. Hell, I've played a lot of 'crack' characters or villains that just have everyone making their character WAY too OOCly mean to them and abusing them or whatever, and it pisses me off. So yes, in that context I agree, and I agree rather XXXCOARly. I'm sorry for the confusion, I just took it the wrong way.

Because some RPers actually needlessly just want something to complain about and pick on others for no reason. Kind of like some random old lady not liking an interracial couple down the street or whatever.

I guess :( I should have been more specific. Sorry.

Oh, I can relate there. Nothing says 'wtf' like having people's characters start stalking yours out of the blue (and then having the muns stalk you outside of the game) because they think your characters are destined to be an OTP? Or being so OOC and so unfamiliar with the original canon that the character is almost unrecognizable? Yeah, I can get the frustration. (The Paine incident. Oh, the Paine incident. Even now my Reeve-muse runs screaming whenever I recall it.)

I'd also like to add that I didn't appreciate how you immediately assumed I was an idiot and some kind of RP-nazi, because I'm not. I'm just a person that's frustrated that every time I mention being annoyed with roleplay in any way, everyone jumps into CRY MORE!!!! mode and no one ever even tries to see how it might be reasonable anger.

I totally took the secret in the wrong way. :[ Sorry. I really thought/assumed you were just being an RP bully, which is a lot different than someone being genuine about how bothered they are about IC interaction (especially if it is vital to the character they play).

The secret seemed pertinent or in some type of response to the backlash against secret 16 a couple of posts ago, so I assumed that it was defending those types of attacks. D: SHOULDNT HAVE ASSUMED.
