Lmao that's a great metaphor

Anyway, I sort of agree. I don't actively hate him as a character. But it really, really bugs me how much everyone loves him. And John Krasinski really annoys me as an actor, with his stupid long face trying to be a fucking action star and being married to Emily Blunt and his stupid Internet show and stupid horror movies he makes. So that bleeds through somewhat.

It seems like you're mad at Krasinski for...succeeding at things. And having good taste in women.

Mostly, I find him smarmy while the rest of the world is in love with him because of The Office.

And also, he didn't succeed at those things, or only partially succeeded. The horror movie I don't think was very good. I think he's a bad action star, apart from being impossible to take seriously because he's fucking Jim Krasinski. The Internet show, yes, he sold it for a lot of money, but that's all it accomplished, it was the most anodyne and useless show in all other respects.

I will admit that the Emily Blunt thing is just jealousy, though.

I mean, by anyone's metric, that's a great career. Especially since he leveraged all that out of being Jim from The Office. I never really thought about Krasinski before but now that you lay it out like that, wow he's really done well for himself.

...I've just realized I've never had bad gravy with good potatoes or vice-versa. It's been one of those dishes for me where those two parts are both at the level you expect, depending where you got it/the ingredients from.

Anyway, at some point I stopped regularly watching The Office after it became less equitably critical and sympathetic in turns to everyone (Jim got more sympathy than most, but when Michael reads off his pranks back-to-back and Jim's face falls realizing how bad they sound and how much of his own time he wastes was great and something rarely done to sitcom protagonists), and more... trying to make the cast seem like one big wacky family? Based on how well the writers, cast, and crew seemed to get along behind the scenes, it almost felt like they began writing for that atmosphere instead of The Office.

100% of my dislike is that it is a crappy remake of a superior show.

They ended up being pretty different shows though. This seems like a shallow, mid-2000's take.

I vastly prefer the Brit Office too and I'm American

Oh man absolutely. I can't STAND the office, and Jim is most of the reason why.

That, and the people who think 'Dwight, you ignorant slut' is an original line and love it as an office quote when it's just sticking Dwight's name into an old SNL catchphrase.

I'm not sure I've ever felt this strongly opposite to a secret before. Jim is one of my favorite characters. Without him the show would've been like Thanksgiving dinner without the turkey.
