Ooooh I couldn't write historical fandom. I suffer enough writing fics for this anime set in the late 90s, and I LIVED throught the late 90s. But not in Japan. So even if my fic is easy slice of life I NEED to get the fact straight. These Japanese boys couldn't have watched this movie because it hadn't premiered in Japan YET even if the US release was that year.

But old stuff? Nah, I just enjoy it and smile when the writers do so much research that they add notes at the end of every chapter. That's what I enjoy reading some of the more "plottier" The Untamed fics. But I could never write in that fandom. Even if it's not set in actual Ancient China, it does have elements from it, and I would lose myself trying to make it as accurate as possible for a 2000 word fic.
