What do you like about Chibnall’s writing, nonny? I don’t think he’s the worst thing ever and I love Thirteen, but the first season was a little rough and lacked cohesion IMHO. The second season was miles better (the reveal of the Master was absolutely brilliant) and the two New Year’s specials were good too.

I loved the individual stories of the first season. It worked for me as an opening season of a Doctor. I liked that it didn't have an overarching plot and was individual stories. I liked that it was all new aliens, and I found all of them interesting. I liked all the new characters. And I thought the plots worked for the most part (only episode I didn't like was 10 because it dragged a little for me). And then I've liked that he's brought back old aliens in his second series and returned to overarching plots. I loved the Master reveal. I love his Doctor and his companions. I feel like he's brought a fresh feel to the show an revitalized it. It feels very now in a good way.

It’s great that you’ve found so much to love about it. :) I tend to like an overarching plot over individual stories, but one of my absolute favorite episodes is Demons of the Punjab and that may not have happened if the first season had an overarching plot. I do love the Doctor and her fam though. I like the Doctor having a group of friends instead of just one who is the most special person ever. Reminds me a bit of Five and his companions (but hopefully Thirteen won’t end up going out the way Five did)
