Not D&D specific but in 2019 a friend invited me to her TTRPG group on discord and playing over voice chat since. We use dice bots for rolls. There's also Roll20 which is designed for this sort of thing (I've never used it).
I hear there's a lot of TTRPG groups on discord so maybe search them? Though I hear they can be dramatic.
