Isn't Hetalia about WWII? At least that's what I was led to believe and...well we did play quite the part. But meh, the vitriol died away since I made the secret.

It's supposed to be about about WWII, that's true...Sorry.
But that makes me realized something. It says it deals with WWII, but finally, people in the fandom uses characters from Hetalia to deals with the situation before WWII (like the 1st Olympics Games), after WWII and nowadays...
(that's why people who are saying it's offensive because WW2 is taboo show somehow they didn't really tried Hetalia because it deals more with the relationship between the character, instead of facts. )

Not only to people in fandom use the characters to tell stories out side of WWII, but Hetalia does as well. The strips are from all over the place, geographically and through time.

Aw, thanks :) But you're probably in uni and studying some sort of politics/history and such. There's so many people in the world, sometimes most of them forget about the others

I've met people who din't even know that the whole Dracula myth=Transylvania=Romania (actually a town nearby me). I lost my faith in the average level of intelligence in people some while ago. It's not worth it :P

(But it's because I'm french, actually...There are lots of Romanianans people who emigrated here)
But, it makes me feel sad because I only heard about your country through reportages about prostitution, and them being illegal in France, and the fact they're enduring a hard life when they emigrate)

Eh, I know Romania, and I'm failry sure the majority of people I know have heard of it too. And I'm pretty bad at geography and history.

I don't know if that's an English thing or not, but I've never been under the impression that no one knows you exist.
