It's Romania, now ha tell me if anyone ever heard of us

Aw, thanks :) But you're probably in uni and studying some sort of politics/history and such. There's so many people in the world, sometimes most of them forget about the others

I do care about the others countries, that's why I was asking you. If I didn't know your country, at least I would have learned about it and would have done research about it. (like to widen my view on the world)

Psssh, I'm in high school, and I've heard of Romania! (The language seems pretty cool, too!)

Just wanted to say that I don't study politics/history and when I was in college I studied theatre. I've heard of your country. I had no idea it was considered obscure.

My best friend growing up was from Romania. She and her family had escaped the country under Ceauşescu. It may be a smaller country, but that doesn't mean it's always invisible. There are a lot of people in the world, but there are always some who remember others.

I thought everyone had at least heard of you and had a vague idea where you are. But then, I am probably putting too much faith in other people's intelligence. :/

I've met people who din't even know that the whole Dracula myth=Transylvania=Romania (actually a town nearby me). I lost my faith in the average level of intelligence in people some while ago. It's not worth it :P

I think the Dracula myth was where I first heard of Romania when I was little. ^^
But yes, the standard for teaching geography here (America) does not seem to be very high. During the whole Georgia incident, I didn't know whether to laugh at the number of people who mixed up the state with the country, or beat my head against a wall. ;__;

Apologies but when I first heard "Russia attacked Georgia" I was like "Seriously? Like Georgia..." "No the country." "Oh..." Yeah, not my proudest moment.

Our prostitutes got as far as France? Wow, I only thought they went to the whole Eastern part and Italy and Russia. Sadly, yes, the few people who heard about us only hear the bad stuff because really, who wants to know the good things?

Hell, I'm sure there are good things. Just nobody tells us. (Romania isn't so far from here, why no visiting it one day...If there are some things you like about your country, would you mind to tell me, which are they ? (I know some, now I googled it, but recommendations is better)

Eh, I know Romania, and I'm failry sure the majority of people I know have heard of it too. And I'm pretty bad at geography and history.

I don't know if that's an English thing or not, but I've never been under the impression that no one knows you exist.

Eh? Not knowing about Romania is like not knowing about Germany, England, Iraq, Russia, China, the US, etc.
