Yeah I've never got this sentiment from fans, I won't watch a show just because it has an actor who played a character I liked in it. I'll watch if the premise sounds interesting to me and that's it.

I'll watch something if there is either someone I think is amazingly talented who I like to watch act the pants off a role or someone hot who I just like to watch on the screen. Sometimes an actor is both things at the same time. But I'm also not going to watch something I absolutely hate even for either of those things. I'll watch something tolerable but not great for them, but not something awful.

That's fair.

It's just not how I work at all, I don't care about actors beyond the character I happened to like them as and no matter how hot I find them that will never be enough to sway me on any show/movie.

It isn't a particularly long list for me with the hot one. They have to be extremely good looking to make it worth watching something I wouldn't otherwise watch.

For the other one, there are just some actors that are just so good at their craft that watching them is enjoyable in itself for me even if I wouldn't otherwise enjoy the movie. Usually those actors make decent choices so the movie/tv show isn't completely terrible.

I'll watch something for an actor! But I wasn't watching Supernatural for Padalecki so I'm not gonna watch Walker for him

Right? I haven't watched Supernatural for years, but he certainly wasn't the draw when I did.
