I think there's something kind of sad about a doll that just lives inside a box. I know it sounds dumb because the doll isn't alive and can't feel and people should do whatever they want with their dolls, but I just got a new Pullip doll today and she looks much happier without all those plastic straps holding her prisoner in the box.

I totally understand this. Some people just have a strong tendency to anthropomorphize.

My father anthropomorphizes so hard that I have to argue him out of buying stuffed animals because once he owns them, he is completely unable to get ride of them, lest they feel unloved and abandoned. Also, if we have two of something but we only need one, he can't get rid of just one, because he feels like he's cruelly separating the pair from each other.

...I relate just a wee bit too well to your dad. Not the separation part, but the whole thing of not wanting to get rid of those kinds of toys...I get that.

I really like to make headcanons where characters have really weird obscure fetishes or are "sexually deviant" somehow. I don't get any hots from it, I just think it's somehow realistic to people irl.

I just think it is sad because these are toys, and they are designed for children to play with. So I think it is sad that adults buy them and keep them in boxes on shelves when they are designed to be played with by kids. That's their ultimate ideal.
