I think there's something kind of sad about a doll that just lives inside a box. I know it sounds dumb because the doll isn't alive and can't feel and people should do whatever they want with their dolls, but I just got a new Pullip doll today and she looks much happier without all those plastic straps holding her prisoner in the box.

I recently got into Undertale and was so eager to devour fanworks. Yet whenever I click on a Youtube "fandub" of a comic, I look in the description for links to the actual comic so that I don't have to listen to the fandub.

I'll admit to being a snob, but I don't find most fandubs good, and I prefer to read the source instead. Oddly, I'll still watch animated Undertale fanworks with text only.

B!S I regret being literally 5-6 years late to the game, as most of the links turn out to be dead or nonexistent Tumblr blogs.

I wish Oceans 12 had been more well-regarded, because while I LOVE heist films, I like thief culture and thief dynamics a lot more. I didn't get enough of it from Leverage either. I think Oceans 8 would have been better received if Oceans 12 had been too, since that's the form Oceans 8 really copied.

Therapy on t v. and in movies gave me inflated expectations for it in real life. Real life therapists are never that invested or personal.

The lyrics to Faded by soulDecision are so gross and sleazy. The entire song is "sleazy horndog guy plots to get into reluctant girl's pants" 101 (something I have a lot of unpleasant personal experience with, as an ace woman who fluked into being good looking). But I find it such an earworm and cannot help enjoying the shit out of it.

I love all baking shows EXCEPT Kids Baking Championship because it makes me feel guilty I didn't put my daughter into cooking/baking classes earlier in her life. We simply couldn't afford it, even though she always loved being in the kitchen.

Dynamite is BTS's worst song in years. Everything about it is a drop in quality from what they normally release. I wish it hadn't been nominated for a Grammy and I hope it doesn't win. (On should have that nomination)

I know that fandom will woobify just about anyone, but one of the weirdest by far for me will always be woobie Tony DiNozzo (NCIS). Every time I run across it, it throws me for a loop. I'm not offended by it or anything, but it's like stumbling across Woobie!Alvin (The Chipmunks).

I used to be very snobbish about the fanworks I consumed (only stuff that was IC, high quality, etc) until I met this friends in fandom and their philosophy was "Fanworks that are self-indulgent are fine as long as it's fun and you like it. Who cares what others think!"

It has really opened up my mind to a lot of fanworks I would otherwise have passed over and now I even leave some nice commentary. And surprise, surprise! I'm now doing fanworks of my own that people have enjoyed and that I have enjoyed making.

It's a nice feeling letting yourself go once in a while. :)

TW Dead of loved ones



I never talk about this but some 10 years ago I lost one of my best friends' in an accident (not only her but her entire family was gone as well). She was 19yo and had a lot to live. It was a long way to recovery but I'm getting by.

Now every time I see a character in a series or movie going through grief, I can't help but flinch. Not because I feel for them, but because their grief is so badly acted it gives me legit second-hand embarrasement. Yes, I know everyone goes through grief different ways, but skipping the entire 5 stages and going straight to bawling feels so unrealistic to me now.

Some time ago (a year+) someone posted a secret about Bowser/Luigi and how they where releasing a calendar for them. I thought the idea was amusing so I went looking for fic and found a really badly written one (lots of character angst, badly broken paragraphs, Mario and Peach being horrible, etc.)...

I'm embarrased to admit that not only did I enjoy the fic, I even started shipping this.

I make up a lot of stories in my head where I stick myself into my favorite fandoms. Most of them are massive crossovers. My absolute favorite though, involves me being adopted by Giles from BTVS. My dad and I have never had the best relationship, and I always wished I had a father like Giles.

B!S:It has always grossed me out that people ship Giles and Buffy. I do believe that people can ship what they want. But their relationship is so parent/child to me that I do judge those who ship it.

I resent Blackpink's popularity. I don't think they deserve it and their zeitgeist seems to crowd out other girl groups which I think deserve the attention so much more.
