You do you, OP. Ignoring the things I don't like is pretty much what I do in every fandom. I just don't have the energy to argue with the people trying to harsh my squee.

Shipping issues aside, I think this show really blows. I was hoping to like it too...

(Anonymous) 2021-02-06 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Are any of these "follow-up adventures with your faves' kids" shows actually good?

(Anonymous) 2021-02-06 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Same. I was hoping to like it because Inuyasha was such a big deal for me back in the day, but I just can't with it. It's boring and I really hate that Kagome and Inuyasha were separated from their daughter and never got to raise her.

W H A T

spoil me, I don't care I'm never going to watch it so what the what now?

So there's some demon who's afraid of a prophecy that a half-demon is gonna kill him and he tries to kill Sesshomaru's twins and Inuyasha's daughter. Sesshomaru takes his kids and drops them off in a forest somewhere, then traps Inuyasha and Kagome in some realm (presumably to protect them, but the show still hasn't stated why) and Moroha (their daughter) ended up being raised by Koga's clan. Then some stuff happened and Moroha got sold to pay off some debts. She does end up going to the present time and meets Kagome's family, but nobody seemed really worried about where the heck Kagome was.

Honestly that's one of the biggest things I hate about it. Kagome and Inuyasha don't get to raise their daughter and even when they meet her again they'll basically be strangers and that just makes me so sad. I was also always really invested in the whole found family vibe between Kagome, Inuyasha, Shippo, Miroku and Sango and everyone not getting to raise their kids together just bums me out. If it turns out one of Sango and Miroku's twins really is dead that's going to be another black mark.

Same. I had high hopes that it would at least be fun but it's so dull. I don't give a crap about Towa or Setsuna and the whole dream butterfly thing feels so pointless considering so far we've seen like no real downside to Setsuna not being able to sleep (if anything it's *helped* them multiple times). Moroha is great but keeps getting sidelined. I'm not sure why Hisui is even there since he never does anything. Most of the one off villains are literal rehashes of villains from the series proper (Kinka and Ginka, Hosenki II, Meioju's kid who also stole Shippo's backstory...).

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Where the hell is Shippo anyway? I kept waiting for him to show up and he hasn't so far. It really bugs me.

No opinion on this particular fandom, but I just want to say I very much agree with your last sentence on a general level, OP. Yes.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-06 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Good for you, man. I had no idea about the existence of this show until a few weeks ago and I could guess sessrin would be canon.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-06 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, we know you like this paring. Good for you.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
If you think only one person likes SessRin, you don't know the first about the Inuyasha fandom lmao

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
That's nice and all, but I'm sure you'll catch up sooner or later.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-06 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay pedo.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
It's canon, take it up with Japan.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-08 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Okay pedo.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-06 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still a bit disturbed tbh, but seeing the meltdown is fun. I wish they made Rin look at least a bit older and not like a stretched out version of her 8-year old self.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
They gave her two extra eyelashes and thought that was enough. It's so lazy.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Ditto.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-09 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don't think I'd care for the pairing either way, but having Rin be as young as she was in canon (pregnant at 14) and still look pretty much exactly the way she did when she met him at 8 years old?? Yuck.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-07 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not legally required to like everything that happens in fiction. If I feel like bitching about it, I will. And everyth9ing I've heard about the show so far makes it sound like trash.

(Anonymous) 2021-02-08 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
People would have still been outraged and disgusted if a platonic adult/child relationship that spent all it's screentime being platonic eventually ended up fucking.

Just look at the reaction to the end of Usagi Drop. Same shit.
