This is a fandom trend that I absolutely despise. Woobiefying has been around since forever, but (at least in all the fandoms I've been in lately) there's this whole trend of single mindedness that /nobody/ seems to want to break apart from. The amount of doubling down on a character who has flaws to be the most excused and woobified of them all is the absolute worst. It's embarrassing that there's a BNF out there that wants ownership of that, tbh.

Characters aren't real. We can excuse them and love them for whatever reasons we want. I love showering my pretty fictional assholes with fannish affection and will do so shamelessly forever and ever <3

It's cute, I'm sure, but how about next time you insert your OC's as they are, or at the very least find a character that somewhat suits them? Being OOC is never a complement. <3
