eh the remake ghostbusters wasn't that good - but I do agree that it had an unfair start when people gave it bad ratings before the movie was released.

AYRT As a film it was enjoyable mindless entertainment, not groundbreaking like the originals. However, the originals have aged really poorly because of the attitudes of the time, and watching them is almost unbearable to me. So to me, the remake is now much better and certainly it had potential for sequels if it hadn't been shot down out of malice and spite.

1+, I wish the new movie hadn't gotten all the drama.

The basic concept of the original movie is great but yeah, it's aged really poorly in spots...especially Bill Murray, who comes off as super creepy. I enjoyed the reboot, but tbh, can't remember the plot.

I'm sorry, but groundbreaking? The originals were not groundbreaking. They were semi-decent movies that were overrated even then by fanboys and have also not aged well.

They haven't aged at all well but they paved the way for a lot of the fun 90s films like Jurassic Park, the Mummy etc. So yes groundbreaking.

LOL, what? Prove to me that there's any sort of connection between Ghostbusters and those later movies. I'll wait.

Do your own research you ignorant asshole and don't expect others to fill in your knowledge gaps for you.

nayrt, but the burden of proof lies with whoever makes the claim

I am convinced Ghostbusters 2016 would have been so much better if Leslie Jones had switched roles with Kristen Wiig or Melissa McCarthy.

Kate McKinnon i̶s̶ was perfect.

funny you should say that, because leslie's role was originally written for melissa and melissa wanted to play abby instead.

i think the movie would have been better if anyone could convince kristen wiig to reel herself in even a little. her character makes rewatching unbearable to me because much like her snl characters she's so over the top it's annoying and not funny.

I didn't know that!

I wonder what that movie would have looked like?
