Berlin is one of the most favourite places I've visited so far and Idk why to be honest, I would say it's because it never pretends to be anything other than what it is? I don't know. I just know that the overall vibe there was amazing. I really enjoyed it.

(Note: I have visited both London and Paris, which aren't terrible at all...but didn't win my heart the way Berlin did. Prague is another city I'd say I loved a lot more than London/Paris as well tbh.)

It probably helps that in my experience, Germans are a very laid back likeable people.

True, Berlin doesn't try to advertise only their positive sides.

Prague was great, too. I loved the old town and the astronomical clock (even the strip clubs next to our hotel were quiet and peaceful).

Prague gets a lot of shit in a UK context for being the "cheap boozey place for stag and hen dos" - but it's so much more than the cheap beer. I wish it didn't have the reputation it does in my country because really it's lovely/interesting and affordable.

In terms of European cities I also really loved Rome, Vienna and Dubrovnik, but those are a bit more expensive. Also on the super cheap end... really enjoyed Krakow.
