Even when I was into this show I could never get into this ship. I loved Belle and thought she deserved so much better than Rumple. I really couldn't stand him. The way he kept switching back and forth. Regina was bad, but at least once she went good she mostly stayed good. Rumple couldn't make up his mind, but we were still supposed to forgive him every time he went good again. Ugh. I really hated him, and even his great actor couldn't save him for me.

100% agreed. That's what made me quit, moreso than the ridiculous plots--Regina did awful things, and nobody forgave her, but at least she made genuine attempts to do better. Rumple did awful things (and in many cases caused others to do so too), made no attempts to actually be better, and still got forgiven over and over. Fuck that.
