I know what you mean. I was dusting my mum's doll collection and absolutely had to spend several minutes fixing one doll's hat because it was getting in her eyes. I'd call it more like "respect for things"? It makes you feel good too.

But also, totally agree-- I don't like to keep my toys boxed up, even if they're for display more than for play! I want to be able to re-dress my dolls, or set up different tableaux with my figures. They do seem 'happier' that way.

I have a porcelain doll that looks similar to Annabelle, certainly same era make.

It's packed away in a chest upstairs and it will stay there.
