I'm very skeptical of this casting and seeing her does very little to assuage that.

I firmly believe that Kristen Stewart should be allowed to play whatever part she wants to play

You never know, she might be the next Meryl Streep for nailing accents.

I think she's a way better actor than she's given credit for, but yeah, I'll be surprised if she can pull this one off. Many people have said this before me, but I feel like she's really good in very subdued, naturalistic roles. That's her niche. I've never seen her as the kind of actor who can handle this kind of deft character work.

I do hope I'm wrong, though. I like KStew and am always rooting for her to succeed.

I actually think Diana is wildly easy to copy in looks, so I'd need to see some actual acting to decide whether she's got it.

It's not an exceptionally good role, though. As a royal, Diana's life makes Dallas look like a documentary, they're about as emotionally real.

My mother loves watching anything royal so I'll probably end up seeing this, but I'm depressed about it already.
