Totally feel you on this. And I've never been one for shounen anime series, few REALLY interested me (I'd say < 10? And that's not much considering my MAL counts 300 completed anime not to mention those I dropped etc.) and GetBackers was one of them. Ugh, how come it hasn't gotten remade yet...

Seriously though, I have mostly been meh on anime for a couple decades now (when I started getting more access to it and realized that it's not that it's mostly good, it's just like all TV/movies in that most of it is unimpressive to me but now and then there's a good one, and only the most popular ones were making it to the US before) and have no desire to rewatch most of it, but GB is one I will probably always love. There's likely some nostalgia there, but also it's just a perfect blend of stuff I like, such as "everyone is really awesome, but also a total loser", and ride or die friendship, and small girls who kick butt, and people torn between loyalties, and the ability to go from deep dark meaningful conversation to wtflol within about 10 seconds. :D

And I suspect I will always identify way too much with Emishi, of all characters, for various reasons. Hahahaha...

A GetBackers secret, yes! Around the same time it came out is when I got into my favorite band of all time and the GetBackers anime used one of their songs for the 2nd opening. So, hell yes, it deserves more love.

Wow! Funny how I haven't seen a single episode of GetBackers in maybe 15 years? And still I instinctively knew you were talking about Barairo no Sekai because... oh, yeah. Because at some point in my life GetBackers (and Gravitation) OSTs were all I listened to on a daily basis. Whoops.

Also, because PIERROT is probably one of the best known artists. Unfortunately every single song was a bop but I don't think many artists were that big.
