Oooh agree. This season really didn't grab me but I did like Oona getting to come back and bond with Bean. It also worked for me because it was yet another way that the audience could see Dagmar doesn't seem to care about Bean beyond her own ambitions. Sure, Oona wasn't the best step mother ever but I think this shows she always had the potential to at least try (and the same goes in reverse as, until recently, Bean obviously held her mother up as a higher standard that couldn't be reached.)

I know they were both high as fuck, but Oona brushing Bean’s hair and giving her different hairstyles was really sweet.

There's some psychology precedent in what Bean and Oona did as a form of bonding: Tune In, Drop Out. That is, when you are temporarily in an altered state of mind via drugs, you have the opportunity to think about things in a different way to come to conclusions that could help you develop as a person.

Likewise, I thought all of her drug trip was funny, but also incredibly sweet and heartwarming, as it was Bean finally getting to cope with the things she has lived through, realizing the connections she has, and bonding with Oona and realizing she's the closest thing she has to a good mom.

I actually liked this season a lot, and felt the series was finally finding its footing, but we'll see what the next Part entails.
